The sun was shining bright today for class in Eyre Square in the town center. We walked down early to start practicing our surveying and map-making. Although the 36 page reading on mapmaking was boring, trying to traverse Eyre Square with compasses wasn't as bad as we all thought and we warmed up pretty quickly. Professor Ruth's seminar is starting with surveying areas of the city and recording it in map form. Definitely not what I expected the class would be, but it will be a good way to get to know the city better.
